web 2.0

I consider myself in the office a organized know where everything is kind of person. You have to be when your the boss right :) at least I know where everything is? right? Well I also try to keep things as less complicated and easy for my volunteers. Many of which do not use the internet. Here is my assignment to check out calendars, which at one time I was good about updating and as of today (promise) I am going to update. Then when it came to spreadsheets, I did my basic best. I went back to college and learned to do excel and I use this every month for our board meeting to tally up books and budget etc...
However-Web 2.0 has me slightly stumpt I went on a site to find many sources for faster web services. Akamai is a service provider and a very large organization. If I were to have a business I would want to use something like this. I am a very small fish and have books to weed, shelves to reorganize and loving my blog. Simple, easy and not so complicated. That is me outside of the office. :) Three dogs, two cats, fish, turtles, oh two children lol... I wonder if we could have a 2.0 system in our homes. One that cooks, cleans, and does dishes ??? LOL so many options out there, and did I mention I love Vermont's 23 things. It makes you think, explore, do and have fun on the web... Well I am off to update my calendar. Have a great week.

Wikis-another option

Wow have I come a long way since going back to college after 20 years. I thought a powerpoint was way cool. Then My Space which as my daughter put it "mom your too old for that! lol" to Facebook which my friends and I have actually been using. I have had a lot of fun with flickr yet my computer at the library uses MGI and I prefer photoshop I have a MAC E at home. Kodak is a very easy web accessible way to share photos. I will say going techno I had a love/hate for my digital. It took me many years to switch from my 35mm to digital but easy access is a great way to promote all sorts of programs via the web etc. I now like my digital and have found it extremely useful.

Now a Wiki comes into my life and whoa it's not Star Trek it is an option :) Often if I go to wikipedia I sometimes find that it is not as accurate as Ask.com or even google but for postings it can be quit easy. It can cost some money $5.00-$20.00 for posts. I like this blog it is free to post and is easy to work on.

Pawlet Blog

For updates and the goings on at our Library check out
www.pawletpubliclibrary.blogspot.com

Check out You Tube and our Pawlet Blog tried Facebook but...

So many choices, so little time to concentrate on a website I really like my blog. Easy simple not to complex. Adding visual a j.peg or two, but adding video I found You Tube the most helpful. My daughter a Celtic dancer/ soft shoe is on it and that site if you go to You Tube and key in Celtic Knights and watch the International Festival you will see a lot of talent from a great group of Saint Michael's college students. Face Book has been popular with my children and I think in comparison to a "My Space" page I would have a Face Book site just because of my adolescent age LOL a big child at heart.
I hope you can get the link off of me and check out the show.
